Connect SimplOrg to your AI assistant, describe your team in plain words, and get a link to an editable org chart. Free, no signup.

Connector URL (remote MCP server)
https://simplorg-mcp.simplorg.workers.dev/mcp

How it works

1

ConnectAdd the URL above as a connector in your assistant. You do this once.

2

AskDescribe your team, or paste a list of people with their titles and managers.

3

Open and editOpen the link the assistant gives you. Rearrange cards, change colors, add photos, then export PNG, SVG or PDF, or create a share link.

Set it up

Claude (claude.ai and desktop app)

  • Open Settings → Connectors and choose Add custom connector.
  • Name it SimplOrg and paste the connector URL. No authentication is needed.
  • In a chat, make sure SimplOrg is enabled in the tools menu, then ask for an org chart.

Claude Code

claude mcp add --transport http simplorg https://simplorg-mcp.simplorg.workers.dev/mcp

ChatGPT

  • On a paid plan, turn on Developer mode in ChatGPT's settings (under Apps & Connectors).
  • Create a new connector with the connector URL and no authentication.
  • Select it in a chat and ask for an org chart. Menu names in ChatGPT change from time to time.

Other MCP clients

Any client that supports remote MCP servers works. Use the connector URL with the Streamable HTTP transport and no authentication.

Things to ask

Start from a description
Create an org chart for a 10-person startup: a CEO, a CTO with 4 engineers, a head of sales with 2 reps, and a designer who reports to the CEO.
Start from your own list
Make an org chart with SimplOrg from this list. The third column is each person's manager. Ana Silva, CEO, – Ben Ortiz, Head of Product, Ana Silva Chloe Kim, Designer, Ben Ortiz
Update an existing chart
Add a marketing manager reporting to the CEO to this chart and give me a new link: [paste your SimplOrg link]

Tip: you can also attach a spreadsheet or paste rows from your HR system and ask the assistant to build the chart from it.

What the connector can do

ToolWhat it does
create_org_chartBuilds a chart from a list of people (name, title, department, manager, optional dotted-line managers) and returns a link to it in the SimplOrg editor.
read_org_chartReads the people and reporting lines from a SimplOrg link, so the assistant can update a chart. Works with links from the assistant and with share links from the editor.

Limits and privacy

  • Up to 500 people per chart.
  • Links from the assistant work for 30 days. To keep a chart longer, open it and save it as JSON or create a share link in the editor.
  • SimplOrg receives only the chart data the assistant sends: names, titles, departments and reporting lines. It never sees your conversation.
  • Photos, colors and card layouts are not set by the assistant. You add those in the editor.

Details are in our Privacy Policy.

Questions

Is it free?

Yes. The connector and the SimplOrg editor are free, and no account or API key is needed.

Which assistants does it work with?

Any assistant that supports remote MCP servers over Streamable HTTP, including Claude (web, desktop and Claude Code) and ChatGPT with developer mode.

What happens when a link expires?

The link stops working after 30 days, and the editor tells you so. Ask your assistant to create the chart again, or save it from the editor before then.

Does SimplOrg see my conversation?

No. It only receives the list of people the assistant sends to build the chart.
